Forgotten admin password

Question:

I have forgotten the password for the admin account in Centova Cast. How can I recover it?

The admin account password is never stored in plaintext so it cannot be recovered.

You can, however, reset the password as long as you are still able to log in to the server via SSH as root.

After logging in as root, run:

/usr/local/centovacast/sbin/resetadminpassword

You will be prompted to enter a new password and confirm it, after which you should be able to log in as admin using the new password.
