I noticed that also -- making a change to the bitrate seems to always work, just make the change and restart the radio --it always reads 32kbs in the config part when you go back and check, but the actual stream is correct.
Also, I sometimes have to make a change twice in the config for it to be applied.

Im testing panel and dont have a clue about why time to time cc-panel stops retrieving this 111 error
for example after last restart, panel is working fine for 6 hours

Just a note: all autodjs was at 32kbps

Now I started a new one at 128, let see what happen

few minutes ago I did run:
root@server [~]# /etc/init.d/centovacast status
cc-web: running (pid 14148)
cc-control: not running
cc-appserver: running (pid 14146)
cc-ftpd: running (pid 14159)
cc-imaged: not running             

so like I said: cc-control: not running
so :  Connection refused (111)

I had to root@server [~]# /etc/init.d/centovacast restart

in order to:
root@server [~]# /etc/init.d/centovacast status
cc-web: running (pid 16631)
cc-control: running (pid 16621)
cc-appserver: running (pid 16629)
cc-ftpd: running (pid 16642)
cc-imaged: not running     

I think centova support could check my post and help us to use in a good way this beta release

With this same issue, I tried to restart the cast control server.  This is what I got:

Trying to update license (this may take a minute or two) ...
   License update failed at http://license1.centova.com/license/ (ERR VIOLATION): Unlicensed script path; trying next server ...
   License update failed at http://license2.centova.com/license/ (ERR VIOLATION): Unlicensed script path; trying next server ...
   License update failed at http://license3.centova.com/license/ (ERR VIOLATION): Unlicensed script path; trying next server ...
   No more licensing servers to try
   Failed to obtain license update from any licensing server; license update failed
   License update failed; product not licensed

I think you just need to reissue your license key - in your Centova Cast account
