Forced Ads?

Read 8002 times
Got a report from a client this morning about a JC Penny intro ad playing, I assumed the client just uploaded a intro file but I couldn't remove it, ended up giving up and switching his server to one closer to his home but I just had another client report the same ad playing but he is not a SHOUTcast client of ours, he has other services but his Centova was through some other provider. I asked the client to let us know what they find but it seems to be something from SHOUTcast, perhaps Raidonomy made some error, or perhaps some type of hack but I'm betting it's Raidonomy doing it, hopefully not on purpose -- both clients set up their YP Hash
Has anyone else had this issue come up? I randomly checked at least 30 other streams and can't find any others that play the ad, hopefully it's just a glitch or something

Yes, seems they just started this, forced ads ... WOW

UPDATE

Sent out a mass email assuring clients we are not playing ads and had lots of clients open tickets, guess they just learned of the problem when we notified them

-- problems only for streams with autohash set up
-- some streams have about a 20 second delay, about the length of the forced ad ...  logging into the SHOUTcast DNAS and removing the autohash corrects,  and in Centova settings goto server overrides, set to NEVER and restart
-- Intro file also seems to cause problems if the client has one

Seems they did it by mistake during some testing: http://forums.winamp.com/showpost.php?p=3079532&postcount=21
