Debian6 Install/mySQL trouble

Read 8139 times
Hi everybody

I'm trying to install on a clean Debian6 64bit host, official repos, no gui, no lamp, just mySQL.

The installation always aborts... as posted in another forum the installer cannot download shoutcast1 and aborts install... i cant workaround this... i have tried with custom install method with just --shoutcast2 but always getting to the same point...
So, with such an "aborted" install, I stat that the basic services are installed, so I give it a try... open the browser and get to the login page...
I fill the form with proper user, database and pass (they are all tested working fro cli login with mysql-client) and got to an error:
"Sorry, a database connection could not be established:

Could not connect to database: Permission denied

Please double-check the database details you specified and try again."

Thats all folks...
Redoing things several times went allways the same...

Can someone help here? Clues? bug?

Thanks
Got it.

Efectively... an aborted install simply does not connect to your mySQL infraestructure.
Any aborted install because of the download problem with shoutcast1 (and suppose the same with wathever abort cause) seems to get in an state in wich no matter the parameters you put into the install scrip (in further intents with the --force option), it will try to "finish" previous install atempts, entering in a nonworking unfinished install loop.

The solution is to erase any single trace of installation on your server, and, from a clean host, avoid any installation of shoutcast1 software that will enter the abort, reinstall, abort loop.

In my case i just installed as in the example/manual shoutcast2 and sctrans2.
Fixed it replacing, 127.0.0.1 for localhost
