I am new to all this, but one big problem for me is the coding of the widgets. I really need to have everything on one page - with schedule and other details. I have a Wordpress hosted website but they don't allow javascript. Nor does my blog website accept the widget coding. I understand that these widgets work some websites with full access to HTML, but for some/many this is not the case. It would be a vast improvement if something could be done in this area. Thank you.

If you have a wordpress.com site then you are restricted in what you can do with it - because it is hosted/owned by WordPress (it's on their servers).

If you host the WordPress site yourself on your own hosting plan (WordPress.org) then you have a lot more freedom. It's far more versatile than the dot com offering.
