I am deciding on purchasing a streaming server and was looking at Centova Cast.  I could not find anything that stated that it required a Dedicated Server.

Questions:
Does it require a dedicated server?
How can I install shoutcast, icecast etc.  If not a dedicated server?

I am assuming that Centova cast does not stream.

You will need a dedicated or a VPS server that you have ROOT privileges for.

Also, it must be a Linux server.  Centovacast doesn't work on Windows servers.

When you install Centovacast, it will install Shoutcast (sc_serv) and / or Icecast 2 for you.
