settings for live broadcast?

ok - i've posted previously about not getting butt to work.   but it appears that the problem is with our centova install or something (as butt, radiodj, winamp and mixxx don't work and all display the same issues).

i've just upgraded centova and we have Centova Cast v3.2.3 operating.

the admin screen shows us that shoutcast v2 is the type of server (giving us the impression we are using v2)  (refer to attached image)

the quick links screen (attached) only shows info for shoutcast v1.  how can we confirm what shoutcast type we are using for our broadcasts?

when putting all the correct info into butt it comes up with error when trying to connect:

Connect: invalid password

The password is definitely correct for the dj.  the schedule allows that dj to log in.

Is the incorrect password error because of the : in the password field (which we are told to put in)?

WE've also tried turning off the autodj and using this settings.   but nothing.   it just doesn't work.

Prior to upgrading the centova 3.2.3, we were running 3.1.1 and we were able to login and the stream upload starts (using all the of the above software) but the autodj didn't stop.   it just keeps playing the scheduled programs.   we turned off he autodj and tried it again. nothing.  that was with v3.1.1

We've read all the doco and we've done everything that the doco says.  even checked the router for the ports (and butt, winamp, radiodj) were all able to start the upload of our live material and we saw the amount of data going up - but nothing ever came through as a live broadcast.  that was using 3.1.1 but we've never been able to get a connect using 3.2.3

you may see from the attachments that we have 2 separate stations and have tried both of them with the settings as shown in quick links.

We are a college and this is an educational station.  we've had this software for over a year and never been able to get a live feed to work.   we gave up on trying to get a live feed to work last year and then just relied on pre-recorded work.   now though we have to get live material to work - but we cannot get it to work.

so who has got live feed to work and what version.  are you using butt and if so, how did you get the password field to work with a colon in it?   what port numbers are you using.

Is there any other option or checkbox or anything that needs to be selected somewhere to allow live feeds.  it just appears that it may be a permission issue or something as it just refuses to do allow us.

very frustrating.

On your other post, you said that you were using port 8011 original port 8010.  However, those ports showing in those images, show 8006 and 8008.  Have you changed ports?  Or have you been using the incorrect port?

Do you have DJ accounts setup under the link "DJs"?
When you created the DJ account(s), did you stop and restart the stream?

username:password  should work just fine when using SHOUTcast v1 setup for the encoder.

(Make sure you are using the DJs username, and not the real name of the DJ that is setup)
