Centova Cast v3.2.0 Build Discussion

Just wanted to start a single topic for discussing the new v3.2.0 build.

Firstly thanks for the update Steve and the team. Its been a long time coming but I'm glad its here now.

Apart from all the bug fixes I'm particularly excited about the ability to change usernames on an account as this has been a pain for us when clients inevitably rebrand at some point. Changing their username before involved deleting and recreating the account. The ability to embed jPlayer / Muses as part of the code snippets is great too. its over a lot of clients heads trying to install jPlayer / Muses from scratch on their sites.

I'm personally going to hold off updating for a few days at least as I want to see a few others have success and maybe point out any issues before i take the plunge.

Anyone updated yet ?

I've seen it in the change list but didn't found how to actually do it.

Seems working fine here. Updated about 12 hours ago.

I also don't see how to change the username.

Can anyone help ?
Updated one of our servers a bit ago... Seems to be working out good... But I did notice listed under Settings > Quick Links, on SHOUTcast v2.x streams, it says SHOUTcast (v1)  and for SHOUTcast v1.9 streams it just says  SHOUTcast.  For v2 streams, shouldnt that say SHOUTcast (v2), or is it meant to say (v1)?

And have not seen any "easy" way to change a username.

I think that is for the server type setting in the software, I haven't been able to connect  using v2 format yet.
It would be great if you all could clarify it a little, for new clients they usually just assume since it's SHOUTcast v2 they should choose v2 format in their software endcoder settings

I would guess there is a command to run for changing usernames

The new web player widgets are great by the way, having to help clients create and install the code used up a lot of support time I'm sure this will free up a lot of support tickets!

Hey guys. Here's a screenshot that illustrates where the "Change Username" button is:

Most of the source clients still use the Shoutcast v1 protocol anyway (when connecting to Shoutcast v2 stations)

The real reason why we chose to say "use the Shoutcast v1 protocol" is to avoid confusion:

-If you're going to use a DJ connection (so a live connection while the autoDJ is running), you will have to connect through Liquidsoap, which only accepts connections made with the v1 protocol.

-For live broadcasts where the autodj is not running, you can use the v2 protocol, since you're going to be connecting directly to Shoutcast and obviously Shoutcast v2 accepts connections made using the v2 protocol, but you can also use the v1 protocol with no problems.

The thing is we thought it might confuse people if they see "use v1 protocol" somewhere and "use v2 protocol" a few lines below. So we decided it would be best to just use the v1 protocol everywhere

Oh, I see, you have to click on the users name name first (in the manage list)  in order to get that button.  I was actually going into the users account and clicking on "settings".
