License problem

Read 17694 times
Hi,
yesterday I try to install CCV3 on a Centos machine where is running a CCV2. The installation was fine with no errors.
I use the key license of my V2 in the same machine.
Same IP, same domain (only difference is the port, 2199 for V3 e 80 for V2)
But I have problem with license.  When I start centova cast 3 I have this result:

Failed to obtain license update from any licensing server; license update failed
License update failed; product not licensed

**** WARNING ****
License validation failed.  Daemon will reject all connections until a valid
license is installed
**** WARNING ****

I check the file license.conf: the key is correct (the same of the v2 in the same machine).
The file license.key is not present
In settings if I test the license server it answer OK
The centova panel V2 in the same server is licensed and normally working.

What can I do?

Thanks for help.

If  you are sure /usr/local/centovacast/etc/license.conf is correct, did you try to restart centova?
/etc/init.d/centovacast restart

Hi,
yes. I have another CCv3 installed on a different machine and everything is working fine.
There's no ccv2 there and the license is a trial.
So I'm using ccv3 from more than one month now...

I have the problem only in this server licensed for ccv2.

Any idea?

Just to clarify, you're not saying that you're using the same key on both a v2 and a v3 installation simultaneously, are you?

But I have problem with license.  When I start centova cast 3 I have this result:

Failed to obtain license update from any licensing server; license update failed

The actual licensing error message is above this in the error output.  Without it, it's impossible to know what licensing problem you're having.

Yes I'm using the same key. Is not possible?
You say is possible to use the same licence and install both on the same machine.
Is there something I understand wrong?

No, that's not possible. :)  Sorry for any confusion.  You can use the same key for a v2 *or* v3 installation -- it'll work in either one -- but not both at the same time.  And yes, you can install both v2 and v3 on the same machine, but each needs its own separate license key.
Ah OK!,
there was a misunderstanding... :-)
I hope you are very close to pubblish a production release. I try for 3 weeks the beta on another machine (I have a trial license) and it works fine (with shoutcast V2 and sc-trans2).
My trial license is expiring the 18 of july and I'd like to continue to test it...  this is why I try to install the V3 on one of my 10 V2 licenses.
If I buy a license for 10, can I use for V3 beta and continue to test it?

Yes, a Leased-10 license will work fine with v3.
Steve,

we use a dedicated license and we are still not able to use it.
how can we start testing?

Btw, we have same errors as ts

If you're having the same issue as the topic of this thread, I explained the problem in this post above which resolved the OP's issue.

Btw, we have same errors as ts
I'm not sure how you could know that... as I explained in this post above, the OP didn't actually include the error message in any of his posts.

If you're not using the same key on both a v2 and v3 installation (per the topic of this thread) please start a new thread and provide the actual licensing error message and I'd be happy to help.
