also url_encode is happening  escaping so the affiliate tag wont get used as the link is not seprate by &

I think we're pretty much guaranteed to do the opposite of what *someone* out there wants regardless of whether we use a same-page or new-page target.  Although the player argument does make sense for the majority, so I'll do this with a developer option to turn it off when embedding in external pages.
