I am hoping someone on here can help me with this, I have today unfortunately had restore a backup of my CentovaCast database after a server issue, the unfortunate part is I did not have a backup sql dump only my mysql folder of CentovaCast containing the .MYD .MYI and .frm files this has allowed me to reinstall the database under my administrator account on the server however has now given me the error problem when trying to access CentovaCast via the web interface.

ERROR
Sorry, a database connection could not be established. Please double-check your configuration and try again.
Details: Could not connect to database: Access denied for user 'Cast'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Now I can obviously create the Cast user name but what is the password used by CentovCast? Now I doubt very much if anyone is going to post it on here so how to resolve my issue?

Is there a way to do a database repair for CentovCast? I look forward to anyone's suggestions.

First I would HIGHLY advise against trying to migrate your Centova Cast database, it is not as simple as just dumping the db on a new server - you may get it to work but it will most likely cause problems in the near future

I would just do a fresh install, kiss your clients stats and playlist settings good-by! (Backups Are Important!)


However, to find the DB information you need (username, password) -- login as root to your server and goto /home/centovacast/systems -- look for the config file

I think you will or may also need to re-create the user in MySQL, then allow that user access

Have not migrated just lost the mysql so recreated everything regarding mysql, all working a treat. Thanks again.
