I can get the XML API to work, but I can't seem to find the right incantation to get the JSON API to work. Whatever I try, it returns a "Invalid username or password" error. For the admin user, for the staff member I created specifically for API access (which has API access enabled, I checked).

Is there some more magic that needs to be done for this?

Actually, it seems like the XML API only works for the admin user. I can't get it to work for my API user.

Ok, more weirdness. With the XML API, I can access the system class with the admin password, but the server class just returns invalid username and password. With or without "admin|" in the password field.

Does anyone have a step-by-step guide to create and use either an XML or JSON API user?
