Breaking News: SHOUTcast Plans to Monetize 55,000 Broadcasters
SAN FRANCISCO, September 8, 2014 – SHOUTcast is a name synonymous with streaming audio software, but now it has been transformed into something completely new. Earlier this year, online radio provider Radionomy saved SHOUTcast from extinction and today they unveil a new suite of products built around the tradition and reliability of SHOUTcast.
In addition to the traditional version of the software - still available and used by over 55,000 broadcasters around the world - the SHOUTcast brand now includes three new products, each a different solution for radio stations looking to enhance their online stream with the latest features and functionality. The most important benefit for radio stations is that they can now make revenue simply by using these new solutions. Monetization of their audience, regardless of how they're listening to the stream, is done using server-side targeted ad injection in conjunction with TargetSpot’s ad network in the US and Europe.
The three new products from SHOUTcast are all offered free of charge, and feature a complete line of streaming capabilities:
1. The SHOUTcast Streaming Service - Announced in July, this solution includes unlimited free stream hosting and a generous revenue share for partner stations. Demand for this new service has been overwhelming with over 1,000 stations requesting to join the platform.
2. SHOUTcast with Monetization - Software compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux which includes integration into the TargetSpot ad network. This allows any SHOUTcast server to become a powerful ad injection engine with built-in revenue potential. Approved stations will receive monthly income from commercials.
3. SHOUTcast for CDN - By partnering with the world’s top streaming companies, SHOUTcast allows these businesses to easily begin generating revenue for themselves and their clients. This innovative new business arrangement means that internet radio has finally become financially viable for everyone.
“This is the revolution that Internet radio has been waiting for,” says Jonathan Westerling SHOUTcast’s Director of Business Development. “We now offer thousands of stations around the world the ability to earn serious revenue by using the same software that has been running their stream for years.”
Broadcasters interested in these new tools can sign up for free beginning Tuesday September 9th at
