My VPS provder has told me the max server load allowed is 4.0 if i exceeed this my VPS wil be suspended.

How can i use Shoutcast v2 & Centovacast without the load issues???

George
That's crazy, mine is just the opposite, SHOUTcast2/sc_trans run at a very low loads, on a cheap vps with only 2 CPU's with about 10 streams running -- but Icecast & SHOUTcast1 run @ higher loads -- nothing that would cause the server to crash but higher than SC2

I am not running WHM/Cpanel though,  if Centova v3 is the only thing running on your server you do not need WHM/cPanel, it would save you the license fee and use less of your server resources.

Hi MyautoDj

Just a question how would  you install CentovaCast without cpanel/whm ie;

1.)Setting up Mysql Database
2.)Setting up Email Address

George
(1) How to Install MYSQL (I just name the DB centova and user also centova
Quote
create database centova;
grant usage on *.* to centova@localhost identified by 'password';
grant all privileges on centova.* to centova@localhost ;
mysql_install_db --user=mysql

also, this command will start mysql when the server reboots
chkconfig --level 2345 mysqld on

(2) I just used a different email server on our @myautodj.com web hosting account

Cheers myautodj

Thanks for your advise,
i will reinstall on a new VPS tomorrow & advise progress

Do you install any sort of firewall ie. APF or CSF on your server with centovacast??

Your issue is also strange as your problem is opposite to mine

I do not install any firewall or anything no, and jsut to clear the record I do not have any issues at all, I just said that ices_cc and sc1 run at a higher load than my sc_trans and sc2 on MY VPS, but the load for each server and anuto dj type is still fine -- in fact my vps (which is one of the lowest levels with the provider's vps packages has been running great, beyond my expectations, and I personally think that even though there may be minor issues here and there Centova v3 is ready to be released, I'm been kinda holding back with marketing but I have seen  a steady increase in search engine traffic -- I can't wait till it's released!

Thanks for that Myautodj,
You have clarified everything clearly for me, one more question ,
Do you run Centovacast v2 & Centovacast v3 on the same server, if not do you run Centovacast v2 with or without cpanel

George
Ignore my previous question about CCv2 & CCv3 on same server as they are installed in same location
