Title: Genreal Rotation Files
Post by: Davy Tee on May 29, 2018, 01:43:26 pm
Why can't the general rotation files be made uninterruptible, like scheduled files?

Hello Davy Tee,

General rotation playlists are at the bottom of the priority tree, you can literally interrupt those with any other kind of playlist.

If what you need is to setup blocks of themed music, or something to that effect, use scheduled playlists, or simply set time windows to two or more general rotations, spanning 24 hours.

Regards.

but general rotation cannot be interrupted for a scheduled show to go out.

Yes it can.

I have a general rotation(s) scheduled 24/7, with specific scheduled rotations set for given times, and the schedules do overwrite.

One thing to note however, at least for me, if a track from the general rotation ends slightly after a scheduled rotation is due to start, a scheduled rotation doesnt start promptly (ie it wont interupt the current track). but, once said track has ended the scheduled rotation/show kicks in. Is this perhaps what you're referring to?

Yes I do mean that, why can't a general rotation file be interrupted by the time clock to fade a track out and a scheduled track to run on time.
I have started another topic on what I would consider a solution that a clever coder could surely do. I only wish I could code as i'd have surely looked to have solved the problem. So unprofessional for timed shows to go late.
