Title: Licensing V3
Post by: stevenaj on July 14, 2012, 03:55:58 pm
Hi,

We have existing V2.x license and have successfully installed the current V3 beta.  Is it possible, and if so how, to use the V2.x license to upgrade the V3 beta at the end of the 30 day period?  Our V2.x server is no longer online and we are waiting patiently for V3 as our standard build is now CentOS 6.2 64 bit - we struggled getting V2.x to work with our new Linux servers so gave up hoping V3 would come along shortly.

Thanks,

Andy

Hi,

You can use any v2 license with your v3 installation.
To replace your existing v3 trial license with any new license, you should:
1) Login to your client area at centova.com.
2) Click "Manage Product Licenses" and select your Centova Cast license.
3) Click the "Re-issue license key" link.
4) On your server, edit the file /usr/local/centovacast/etc/license.conf and replace the old key with your new one
5) Delete the file license.key in the folder   /usr/local/centovacast/etc/license/
6) Restart Centova Cast using:     /etc/init.d/centovacast restart

Also just a note that Centova Cast v2 works just fine with CentOS 6 on both x86 and x86-64 architectures.  If you're having a specific problem, feel free to contact the helpdesk for assistance as lots of our clients are using with no problems on that platform.
