Title: Broadcast Software Suggestions
Post by: xDazedx on June 06, 2014, 08:52:19 pm
Hi All!

I have been using SAM Broadcaster for all of our DJ's for a few years but since Spacial has still not figured out seat licenses yet, I am starting to move on.  Our dj's are upgrading to WIN 8 and the 10 seat licenses I have do not support WIN 8. Their solution was to go to Vibe which did not really thrill me.

I am using Shoutcast 2 and was wondering if anyone is using something other than SAM for broadcasting?  I looked at Mixx but that only supports IceCast and Shoutcast 1. This seems to be the same with most of the other software solutions I have seen. Converting to IceCast would be a pain due to some of the custom audio players we have.

Anyone have suggestions?

You must not be doing any live broadcasting. I have been using Centovacast for many years and it is awesome since we have several dj's for live shows. I was able to get Mixx working with Shoutcast2 so that might be an option but I would still like to see if anyone can suggest other software that they are using in conjunction with Centovacast that supports Shoutcast2.

actually I have 30+ live broadcasters on one of my stations.

We use BUTT to broadcast. (broadcast using this tool)

Only reason I dont use the shoutcast DSP is because I like to streamline everything I do. Its easier to troubleshoot if everyone is using the same program. BUTT works on multi OS's.

So instead of Mac guys using nicecast and windows guys using shoutcast DSP, they all use the same thing.
