Title: Stream reported as offline, Source not connected, when both are on.
Post by: Paul Evans on March 24, 2010, 12:27:27 pm
Hi, any idea why the source status says disconnected and the server is reported to be offline, when its definitely online?

In the control panel the source is connected and server up, however on the front end it isnt so.

On the main web page using the code snippet, server is offline.
Also using the API it is being returned as offline/not connected.

Hope somebody has any idea as this has me stumped!

Thanks

Paul.

Forget it sorry its me being an idiot again.

Im testing the sourcestate expecting it to be "up" if a source is connected, but Im streaming remotely to the server.
I didnt realise sourcestate tests only for server side source....doh!!!

Oh my god I just spent 3 days learning XML,CURL & PHP to interface with the API to get my "if source is down print "currently off air"" script to work on my page and it was all for nothing. hahaha. If I dont laugh I'll cry...

ok then how come in the control panel it has "Source Connected" Yes/No

and this is yes or no if a remote source is streaming.

yet I find nothing in the API to be able to display whether the remote source is connected.

I guess you dont provide support for the API. Crap.

OK new question then. When my remote source disconnects, the playlist/stream title still shows the title as if theyre still streaming, and this doesnt ever go away. Is there a way to get this to clear itself automatically?

Thanks.
